Thackeray's Book Review

I've done quite a bit of reading of late and one of my favorites is the trilogy by Veronica Roth - Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant.  You may have heard that the movie Divergent was recently released.  I've only heard one patron's critique and it was very positive.  If you like fantasy this is the book for you.  It reminds me of The Hunger Games series in that you are entered into a new world with different cultures but the similarity of the stories ends there.  I give this a 4 star rating out of 5 only for the fact that book two got a little sluggish in spots.

Plant A Seed!

Ripley Free Library is looking for volunteers to plant a pack of seeds!  In May we will hold our very first Plant Sale.  We are asking everyone to buy a packet of seeds...vegetable, flowers, whatever you like, and plant them.  Egg cartons will work.  We have instructions here at the library.  After a few weeks, you can bring your seedlings in and we will transfer them to a larger container.  If everyone pitches in, we can have a great sale!  Be sure to keep your original packets with the seedlings so we'll know exactly what you planted.  Questions?  Call 736-3913
